INSPIRATION: The old Nordic sagas tell of a destructive, dragon-like serpent trapped beneath Yggdrasil, the world tree, gnawing at its roots in hopes to destroy all nine realms. With wings made up of the dishonorable dead and the body consisting of bright green scales, Nidhogg rules over those who have been banished. From a wet and earthy base, I mixed decayed wood, oakmoss, and mushrooms to represent the earthiness, then blended smoke, black pepper, and musk to represent the destruction.
